Inspiring Meeting with Architect Elena Coneva at the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Berlin

On 6 June 2026, in the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Berlin, we had the honour of hosting a meeting with architect Elena Coneva – a woman whose work has left a deep and distinctive mark on architecture, urban planning and the cultural life of the Macedonian community. Her journey began in Turin, a city of art, architecture and vision, where Elena laid the foundations of her knowledge and developed the language through which she now speaks using space and form. From the sunny streets of Turin to vibrant Berlin, this journey was not only geographical, but also one of growth, perseverance and dedication to her profession. Through her presentation, Elena guided us through a wide range of completed projects, including public squares, children’s playgrounds, private villas, care homes for older people and religious buildings. A particularly important place in her work is occupied by the project for the Macedonian Orthodox Church “St. Clement of Ohrid” in Berlin, a work of exceptional significance to our community. It is a place of spiritual unity, belonging and preservation of Macedonian identity far from the homeland.
