Female Empowerment im Dialog – ZemaF beim Open Monday in Berlin

As part of Open Monday at the Japanese-German Center Berlin, a panel discussion on female empowerment was held, to which the President of ZemaF e.V., Dr. Marija Treneva, was also invited. The event provided an important platform for exchanging perspectives and experiences among leading women from diplomacy, politics, business, science and culture. The evening opened with welcoming remarks by Secretary General Julia Münch, while the keynote contributions were delivered by Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space, and H.E. Mitsuko Shino, Ambassador of Japan to Germany. The panel discussion also featured distinguished female leaders:

– Irene Bader, Member of the Executive Board of DMG MORI – a global leader in industrial technology
– Yoko Higuchi-Zitzmann, Senior Advisor at Westbrook Inc. – an international investment and media company
– Prof. Dr. Michiko Mae, Professor Emerita at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf
– Anne Pomsel, Managing Director of the German-Japanese Business Association

The discussion centred on the shared understanding that the complex social challenges facing Germany and Japan can only be addressed by bringing together different perspectives, knowledge and experiences, as well as through active cooperation across sectors and cultures. For ZemaF, events like this provide an important opportunity for international networking, the exchange of ideas and active participation in initiatives that strengthen the role of women in society. The informal get-together also provided additional space for bilateral exchange and the strengthening of professional connections. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our Ambassador, H.E. Ylber Sela, for his continuous support, to the Japanese-German Center Berlin, and to the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mitsuko Shino, for the invitation and the trust placed in us.
