On the occasion of 8 September – Independence Day and the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of North Macedonia, the President of ZemaF e.V., Dr. Marija Treneva, and Vice President Dr. Irena Bojarovska attended the official celebration in Berlin, held at the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

In front of a large audience, H.E. Ambassador Prof. Ylber Sela delivered a ceremonial address highlighting the importance of German-Macedonian relations, the close bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and the importance of further strengthening their connections.

Dr. Matthias Roßbach, Representative of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia to the Federal Government, also addressed the guests and particularly emphasized the close and long-standing cooperation between North Rhine-Westphalia and North Macedonia.

It was also a special honour to welcome Gunther Krichbaum, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office responsible for Europe. His presence and remarks further underlined the importance of German-Macedonian relations and European cooperation.

ZemaF e.V. – Centre of Macedonian Women was represented with its own stand, where guests had the opportunity to learn more about our work, objectives and activities. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for new encounters, the exchange of ideas and the opening of new perspectives for future cooperation.

Macedonian restaurants and producers were also part of the programme, presenting traditional Macedonian cuisine and wine and offering guests a taste of the richness of Macedonian gastronomy and culture.

Our special thanks go to H.E. Ambassador Prof. Ylber Sela and the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Berlin for the invitation, support and trust in the work of ZemaF e.V., as well as to the Representation of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia for its hospitality and support.

ZemaF e.V. is particularly proud of the contribution of our Vice President, Dr. Irena Bojarovska, who hosted and moderated the ceremonial programme with professionalism and elegance. Her dedication and presence made an important contribution to the dignified atmosphere and the successful course of the evening.
